N/A JOB SUMMARY Tellers are responsible for comprehensive, prompt and efficient handling of customer banking transactions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Receives checks and cash for deposits to accounts, verifies amounts, checks for proper endorsement.
Cashes checks, and processes withdrawals; pays out cash after verification of signatures and balances.
Sales of Official Checks Processes and logs night depository bags, and mail deposits Answers phones assisting customers and/or transferring callers to appropriate branch personnel Cross sells bank products and services when appropriate Balances cash drawer at end of shift, and reports any discrepancies to supervisors Ensures workstation is properly stocked with supplies Admits customers to their Safe Deposit Box(s) Is responsible for comprehensive, prompt and efficient customer transactions, verifying identities, signatures, balances and cash amounts.
Assists with maintenance and settlement of the Vault and ATM.
OTHER DUTIES Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor(s) SUPERVISORY DUTIES N/A EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE High School Diploma/GED Cash handling experience a plus Successful completion of in-house training KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Strong organizational skills and attention to details Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Ability to function well in a face paced environment.
Maintaining knowledge of bank policies and procedures and adherence to same Participation in bank community service events Handling of customer problems and complaints to best of ability, forwarding to a supervisor when necessary Always present a professional look and attitude Good understanding of the Bank's products and services Above average interpersonal skills as well as oral and written communication skills PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
